The new year has started meaning it is time to set some goals and think about what we want to achieve in 2022! This blog is going to look at setting goals to help you achieve your English learning and education-focused goals. But first, it is important that we talk about what goals are and how to set them.
Have you ever been to Washington DC? We have! On 25th August, 440 Zoni students traveled to our nation’s capital for a day of history, culture, and lots of English! This wasn’t the first time Zoni has taken a field trip to DC. It is such an important location in the history of the United States that we take students there annually.
Washington DC is not far from New York taking roughly four and a half hours by bus. Although we set off early, the bus ride is always fun. It is a great opportunity for students from different classes and campuses to get to know each other and break the ice.
Once there, students had an exciting day including a tour, lunch and visits to various monuments and sites.
After a long, hot summer vacation, it is time for students to head back to school! Going back to school is a big deal – not just for students but for parents as well. It is a very exciting time; most students will find themselves in a new grade, a new class and maybe even a new school. For language school students, back to school might seem like a weird concept because you do not have long summer holidays! However, back to school is about more than actually going back to school. It is an American tradition! In this blog we will look at what happens during the ‘back to school’ period and look at a few fun traditions for kids and adults! After that we will look at things going on at Zoni in the Fall.
Niagara Falls is an incredible place! Did you know that it isn’t just one waterfall? In fact, there are three waterfalls: Horseshoe Falls in Canada and the American Falls and Bridal Veil Falls in the United States. Together they are known as the ‘Niagara Falls’. Horseshoe Falls sits on the border between the two countries, making it one of the most beautiful international crossings in the world! Altogether, 3 160 tons of water flows over Niagara Falls every second.

Memorial Day began as a very somber (quiet and thoughtful) day of remembrance, but it over time has evolved into the unofficial start of Summer with people enjoying typical summer activities for the first time in the year.

In fact, the internet has become so important that it even has its own day! October 29th is International Internet Day. On this day we celebrate the role of the internet in our society.

Alongside baseball American Football is one of the most beloved sports in the United States. Although in recent years it has become more popular internationally, football is still a very American pastime.
We can all agree that 2020 was a difficult year. People all over the world have struggled through the pandemic, travel was stopped, and we were even forbidden from living our normal, everyday lives, including going to school. But despite all of the obstacles, Zoni has managed to achieve some wonderful milestones thanks to the dedicated staff, teachers and students! So, let's end the year positively as we look back on the good parts of 2020.
Join our Field Trip to Washington DC!
Each year around June one of the highlights of the Zoni activity calendar takes place – The Washington D.C Field Trip. Many of our students look forward to this all year. Anyone who has seen previous years’ photos would have seen just how much fun this field trip is. This blog post will give you all the information you need to join in, as well as, a little bit of history for places you will visit in D.C.
When you study with Zoni you are not just getting English lessons – even in a pandemic we are focused on giving students an insight into culture, exposing them to different perspectives and most of all, giving them a sense of community.
At Zoni, we have a student-centered approach to teaching. Since 1991, Hundreds of thousands of students have studied English at our school. Our goal is to help you master writing, reading, speaking and listening. To achieve this our curriculum combines a range of learning techniques not only keeping things interesting but also to make sure that different learning styles are catered for. We want our classes to be for everyone!

We are happy to announce that on August 24, 2020 all Zoni campuses reopened for in-person classes. At the same time, our virtual program is still available for students enrolled in a VPP only course and for other students in special circumstances.
To keep our students, teachers and staff safe, we have implemented a number of health and hygiene practices. All of these measures comply with what is recommended by the Centre of Disease Control (CDC) and we ask that everyone does their best to follow the rules.
Even though Zoni campuses have been closed in order to keep you safe from Covid-19, exciting things have been happening! Not only did we celebrate 29 years of Zoni Language Centers, two of our campuses, Brooklyn and Passaic have been certified by SEVP. This blog post will explain what that means, the things these campuses can offer as a result of their SEVP approval, and finally will give you some information about the campuses, the surrounding areas and why you should study there.
The past few months have been tough for everyone, but particularly for students far from their families and distanced from their friends and classmates. Virtual Presence Program (VPP) is a virtual English program offered via the internet. The classes are delivered live with interactive relevant lessons. It provides access to resources and program, facilitated by wonderful teachers. You can socialize with your classmates and make friends with, in a virtual classroom experience.
International Women’s Day is a day to celebrate women’s empowerment. Not just the amazing women who have fought for women’s rights and equality, but all women and how they contribute to our societies. This year, the theme is “Each for Equal” and reflects the need for gender equality in all areas of life.
