Full job description: ESL Curriculum Developer

As an Experienced ESL Curriculum Designer, you will play a pivotal role in creating high-quality, comprehensive ESL curricula that cater to a wide range of learners, including beginners to advanced students. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and refining instructional materials, assessments, and course structures based on research, best practices, and the specific needs of our learners. This is not a teaching role but focuses on curriculum development.

-Develop, review, and revise ESL curriculum for various proficiency levels (beginner, intermediate, advanced).
-Create engaging and pedagogically sound instructional materials, lesson plans, and assessments.
-Design and implement both synchronous and asynchronous learning modules that promote active learning.
-Ensure that the curriculum is aligned with best practices, research, and educational standards.
-Collaborate with subject matter experts, educators, and stakeholders to ensure the curriculum is relevant and effective.
-Continuously assess and refine curriculum based on feedback from students, instructors, and performance data.
-Stay up-to-date with trends in language acquisition, instructional design, and ESL education.

Education: Master of Science (M.S.) in Curriculum and Instruction (ESL Focus)
Focus: Designed for teachers seeking to specialize in curriculum development for language learners.
Often emphasizes creating inclusive lesson plans, cultural sensitivity, and differentiated instruction or a related field (preferred).
Experience: At least 3 years of proven experience in ESL curriculum design (not teaching) in a professional or academic setting.
Expertise in ESL instructional design, curriculum frameworks, and teaching methodologies.
Familiarity with standardized ESL testing systems (e.g., TOEFL, IELTS, CEFR).
Strong understanding of language acquisition theories and their practical applications in curriculum development.
Familiarity with the use of data to improve curriculum and learning outcomes.
Proficient with instructional design software and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
Ability to create engaging, culturally sensitive, and inclusive educational content.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong time management skills to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
