Service Learning and Community Outreach

Zoni believes in the importance of reaching out and helping others in our school community as well as communities beyond our campus. By embracing a model of service learning, students at each level investigate topics that interest them, work in teams to identify specific needs, and develop action plans to address those needs. Our teams have hosted guest speakers from different organizations including topics such as Immigration, health insurance etc.

Students & staff also get off campus to learn and engage. So far, over the past years, our international students have:

Giving away essential goods such as food, clothes, shoes, hygiene supplies to homeless people

Donating canned goods to the Salvation Army

Organized and actioned a Toy drive for kids with economic disadvantage

Beach clean-ups

Throughout the Covid 19 pandemic, staff and students, organized, collected and distributed food to all of our students in need in different destinations in the United States.

Through social projects, students develop a better understanding of the importance of civic participation and the way communities work. They build critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and ultimately apply what they learn to improve communities in real, meaningful, and lasting ways.
