Day 1: Arrival and Georgia State University
Morning:
Depart from your school for Atlanta, GA.
Upon arrival in Atlanta, meet your Zoni Tour Manager at the hotel for luggage drop off.
Head to Georgia State University for a campus tour, exploring its modern urban campus and academic offerings. For over a century, Georgia State has offered students more than 250 academic programs and is known as a leader in innovation and research.
Afternoon:
Enjoy a meal at a local restaurant near Centennial Olympic Park.
Visit Centennial Olympic Park, built for the 1996 Olympics. Take in a show at the fountain and take a ride on the SkyView Atlanta Ferris wheel for stunning views of the city below.
Take a tour of the World of Coca-Cola where you can explore the history of this uniquely American soft drink. Learn all about how Coca-Cola has influenced marketing and American culture and taste 60 different soft drinks from around the world.
Evening:
Gather for a welcome dinner at a local eatery where you can talk about your campus visit and prepare for the days ahead.
Check in to your hotel and rest.
Day 2: Clark Atlanta, Spelman, and Morehouse
Morning:
Start the day with a hearty breakfast at your hotel.
Explore Clark Atlanta University, a historically Black university, and gain insights into its rich heritage. Formed after the unification of Atlanta University and Clark College, Clark Atlanta is the largest of the four institutions that form part of the Atlanta University Center Consortium. Here students can learn about the vast array of academic programs and student life events available at this university.
Afternoon:
Have lunch on the Clark Atlanta campus.
Separate into two groups to visit Spelman College and Morehouse College.
Spelman College is a global leader in the education of women of African descent and is home to over 2000 students. Here, female students will explore the history, present, and future of this renowned institution which consistently receives high marks for its quality of education. Known as part of the Black Ivy League, Spelman offers students the opportunity to learn and grow in academics and leadership.
Similarly, Morehouse College excels at preparing young men to change the world through leadership and service. For over 150 years, has educated Black men and boasts such famous alumni as Olympic athletes, politicians, and entertainers. As a leading institution of higher learning in Atlanta and around the world, Morehouse offers male students a glimpse into life at a Black Ivy League University.
Take a tour of the Georgia Aquarium where you can see a whale shark in the stunning Ocean Viewer Gallery and check out the penguins, dolphins, and countless other marine animals.
Evening:
Enjoy dinner at a local eatery where you can debrief after your HBCU tours and share information that you learned about each of the schools.
Reflect on the meaningful experiences of the day and return to the hotel for a good night's sleep.
Day 3: Georgia Tech and Cultural Exploration
Morning:
Begin the day with breakfast and check out of the hotel.
Visit the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) for a campus tour, experiencing a leading technological and research institution. Georgia Tech’s mission is to develop leaders who advance technology and improve the human condition. One of the nation's top public research universities, this institution provides a top-rated education to over 45,000 students.
Afternoon:
Enjoy lunch on campus.
Explore the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historic Site, including his childhood home, the Ebenezer Baptist Church, and the King Center. Here you will learn about the single most famous Civil Rights leader and explore ways to further his legacy in your own life.
Evening:
Gather for a final dinner, sharing stories and memories from your Atlanta adventure.
Bid farewell to Atlanta, GA, departing for home with a deeper understanding of the educational opportunities waiting for you in this thriving city.
