Next, explore the National Liberty Museum. Expand your understanding of what liberty means and learn about the great strides the country has made in the name of freedom.
Afternoon:
Start the afternoon with lunch at a local eatery.
Enjoy a city walking tour, where you will visit historic sites such as the Betsy Ross House and Ben Franklin's gravesite.
Evening:
Enjoy a group dinner at a downtown restaurant.
Take an evening ghost tour as you uncover Philadelphia's haunted history.
Check into your hotel and unwind.
Day 2: Historical Sites and Civic Exploration
Morning:
Have breakfast at the hotel.
Tour Independence Hall, where the Declaration of Independence and U.S. Constitution were debated and adopted.
Head to the Philadelphia Museum of Art, where you can re-enact the famous scene from the movie Rocky where he ran up the steps of the museum. Once you make it to the bottom of the steps, check out Rocky Balboa’s statue and enjoy the rest of the museum.
Afternoon:
Enjoy lunch at the Bourse Food Hall, offering a variety of culinary options.
Bring the US Constitution to life with a visit to the National Constitution Center. Walk through Signer’s Hall and meet the founding fathers then watch Freedom Rising, a multimedia theater performance.
Evening:
Wrap up the evening with a group dinner at a local restaurant before returning to your hotel.
Day 3: Science and Currency
Morning:
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel.
Visit the Franklin Institute, a renowned science museum named after inventor and Founding Father, Benjamin Franklin. Learn about the night sky at Fel’s Planetarium or visit Your Brain to learn about neural pathways and brain function. Be sure not to miss the 20-foot-high marble statue of Benjamin Franklin in the rotunda.
Afternoon:
Have lunch at a local eatery.
Set out on a guided tour of the United States Mint to learn about US currency. See the first coining press, used to strike our nation’s first coins in 1792, and other historic artifacts. Meet Peter the Mint Eagle, a real Bald Eagle who made the First United States Mint his home.
Depart from Philadelphia and return home.
